BOP underhull guiding system

Grenland Group supplies BOP guiding and handling systems for semisubmersibles, on EPC basis. The BOP guiding system is connected to the main deck structure on the forward and aft sides of the moonpool, and is designed to prevent undesired longitudinal and horizontal movements when guiding the BOP, Xmas tree and associated equipment through the splashzone.

The system consists of a hinged part and a sliding structure. The guides are hydraulically operated containing hydraulic actuated cylinders for locking the frames in both parked and operational positions as well as lowering and retracting the guide frame and moving the sliding structure horizontally. Hydraulic operations are carried out from a control panel.
