Deaeration of sea water

MinoxTM Deoxygenation Systems, Ultra Compact Units for water injection applications.

Typical water injection system circuit

The deoxygenation system for injection water, can be delivered in two different versions; Minox DeOx System – 2 Stages, or Minox Deox System –Compact Tower.

The MinoxTM DeOx System – 2 stages

This is the ultimate deoxygenation system configuration available in the market today. It gives extremely small and light units and requires a minimum of maintenance and utilities.

Features:

  • Extremely compact and flexible layout
  • Significant weight and volume savings compared to conventional systems
  • Low height, fits in-between decks
  • Residual oxygen level less than 10ppb without the use of oxygen scavenger
  • Elimination of booster pumps
  • No need for fine filtration
  • Easy installation and low maintenance frequency
  • Can be located in hazardous and non-hazardous area
The first commercially sold MinoxTM Deoxygenation system (2-stage) was installed on Saga Petroleum's Snorre TLP in 1991.
Today's edition is even more compact.

The MinoxTM Deox System – Compact Tower

By utilizing the MinoxTM process in conjunction with a tower and packing, the same technical features as the 2-stage system are achieved. It will however require more space and support than the 2-stage system, but still significant less than a conventional system. This means that overall, for most new installations, the 2-stage system will be more cost effective.

Features:

  • Higher capacity compared to conventional towers (same size)
  • Residual oxygen level less than 10ppb without the use of a scavenger
  • Elimination of booster pumps
  • Low maintenance frequency
  • Proven technology
  • Can be located in hazardous and non-hazardous area
