In the following are provided a few examples of other applications. Should you have an application where you think Grenland Minox might help you with a solution, please don’t hesitate getting in touch with our sales people who will assist in your evaluations.
1 - Deaeration of refined Hydrocarbons and Hydrat Inhibitores
2 - Deaeration of Produced Water
3 - Conversion of Vacuum or Fuel gas stripping tower
4 - Minox MFF - Cleaning of Produced Water
1 - Deaeration of refined Hydrocarbons and Hydrate Inhibitors
The MinoxTM Deoxygenation process is also applicable for treatment of other fluids where oxygen saturation is a problem. The problems could be fouling and local corrosion, pit corrosion in the system and connecting piping.
Such examples of fluids are:
The MinoxTM Process has through testing proven that it easily can be adapted to handle such cases.
2 - Deaeration of Produced Water
Reinjection of produced water into oil wells for pressure stimulation has become more common in the industries. In some cases the Produced Water has to be ventilated and exposed to atmosphere in order to relief H2S.Such exposure of the water to atmosphere represents oxygen absorption to the water, and thus the water is becoming corrosive.
The MinoxTM Deoxygenation process has proven, even if the water containing typical amount of hydrocarbons, to have the capability to remove the required amount of oxygen from water, and thus provide a sufficient protection from corrosion of the piping and injection system.
3 - Conversion of Vacuum or Fuel gas stripping tower
3.1 - Vacuum to Minox
Conversion of an existing vacuum tower into a MinoxTM Compact Tower is an extremely attractive modification. The existing tower can be utilized, and the upgrade may give important capacity and performance improvements.
A conventional vacuum deareator tower can be upgraded with regards to plant capacity and particularly residual oxygen level by converting to The MinoxTM Compact Tower technology. This is a fairly simple conversion and requires a minimum of modifications to the existing system.

3.2 - Fuel stripping to Minox
Conversion of an existing fuel gas stripping tower into a MinoxTM Compact Tower is an extremely attractive modification. The existing tower can be utilized, and the upgrade may give important capacity and performance improvements. In addition such conversion will reduce or eliminate the safety issue in having and using natural gas in the area. The deaerator location area can be made into a non-hazardous area.
A conventional natural gas stripping deaerator tower can be upgraded with regard to plant capacity and residual oxygen level by converting to The MinoxTM Compact Tower technology. This is a fairly simple conversion and requires a minimum of modifications to the existing system.

4 - The Minox Floc and Float process - MFF, Cleaning of produced water
The Minox MFF System is specially designed to cope with small oil droplets. It can be delivered as complete oily water treatment solutions or as retrofit solution to existing systems struggling to meet legislations

The Minox MFF installed at Crystal Ocean.
The MFF System is a patented pre-treatment system for oily water. The system is based on a combination of chemical treatment and dynamic mixing. The water is treated in two stages with two different additives. Both the additives are harmless for the environment and are injected in extremely small amounts (2 - 10 ppm). The MFF system (Pre-conditioners) is extremely well suited in combination with hydrocyclones, but can also be installed with other separation devices. The system can typically be installed as part of a complete produced water purification plant before over board discharge.
The Minox Floc & Float system (MFF) can also be delivered separate as a retrofit product for enhancement of existing plant performance. Thus making existing hydrocyclones or other separator agents capable of meeting the oil discharge legislations.
